DESCRIPTION:
When a pacifist is called to a political act that could change the course of history, a man of honor responds. This is the true story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a man who preached love while plotting the assassination of an evil tyrant. Set in 1940s Berlin, the movie dramatizes the life of German theologian and pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who stood up to the Nazis during the Third Reich.

This event is intended to follow the Bonhoeffer movie, so the time may need to be adjusted based on the movie schedule (the movie has not yet been released). I will provide an update as soon as the movie time is determined.

A reservation will be made in my name. Cafe Lola is in the strip mall at the front entrance leading to the AMC Theater. They have good food, and you can order a full meal or a small plate as you like.

Let's celebrate the holiday season on an evening when things are (hopefully) not super busy! We'll have dinner at the Label Restaurant. I'll also have a few multiple-choice trivia questions for the group. Each winner will receive a small prize. Afterward, we will drive to nearby Founders Park for a group stroll through Johnson City's "Candy Land," a display of Christmas trees donated and decorated by local businesses. Notes: You are responsible for your own meal. There is limited parking near the restaurant, so be prepared to do a bit of walking. There is no charge to view the Christmas trees.

Mufasa: The Lion King is an upcoming American musical drama film directed by Barry Jenkins and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is photo-realistically animated, and both a prequel and sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 film, The Lion King.

STORYLINE:
In the Pride Lands of Tanzania after the events of The Lion King (2019), Rafiki the mandrill tells the origin story of two lions, Mufasa and Taka, to Kiara—the granddaughter of Mufasa and daughter of Simba and Nala. The story follows the orphan Mufasa, who is befriended by the young prince Taka and adopted by Taka's family; the pair become as close as brothers.
