Hi Ladies:

The final event of the year!

The Holidays are upon us and I thought it would be fun to have a cookie/treat exchange at my house to celebrate.

Please bring 2 dozen of your favorite homemade Christmas cookies or holiday treats along with a small appetizer to share. I will provide boxes for your cookies, water, wine, and a non-alcoholic cocktail.

People often want to try a new recipe so if you are willing to tell all, please bring a few written copies for attendees.

I will provide my address to attendees in a separate message as we get closer to event time.

In this online event, we will explore our new home, and get some simple tips on how to use it. The new platform is called Mighty Networks, and it will open up a whole new world of community-building for us. Here are some of the things you'll be able to do. . .

FFF>50 will be available via your web browser and also on an app (that actually works)

You’ll have precision control of your notifications—both on your phone and in your email inbox

You'll be able to initiate and engage with Discussions in a feed, upload articles of interest, post images, message one another in an organized structure

There's a powerful search feature you can use to look for members, hosts, events, and topics in discussions and posts

I’ve created what MN calls ‘custom fields’ to allow members to indicate their specific interests, profession, and/or identity. If you choose to select from these custom fields, your answers will be visible to any member who clicks your profile. These answers are optional, but when shown, will be another way to learn more about a potential friend.

MN uses AI to introduce members to one another based on location and interests. (I love this! But you can easily opt out if you prefer.)

If you need tech support, you can use their Need Help button to connect to their AI which is surprisingly great at finding the right answers to your questions right away. If this fails to deliver the answer you need, they reply to emails within 12 hours.

If you were with us when we were on Revel, this will be like that! Better even maybe! All that's missing is you. When you attend this event you will get an invitation link to join our new home.

These intimate, local gatherings are called 6@6 (meaning 6 guests at 6:00). But they can be 4@10, 10@2, or whatever you want.

Here's what LA member, Toni, said about hosting her first 6@6:
"At first I was nervous. But as soon as everyone got there, it disappeared because everyone got along so well. Being the host gave me permission to introduce myself and strike up the conversation. So my usual inhibitions didn't get in the way. At the end, everyone thanked me. They even asked if we could do it weekly!"
