Ready for a fun and mysterious afternoon? Join us at Beat the Lock on The Alameda in San Jose for the “Secrets in the Attic” escape room! We’ll team up to solve puzzles, discover hidden clues, and race against the clock to escape. Whether you’re a seasoned escape room pro or a first-timer, it’s sure to be a memorable experience!

After the escape room, we’ll head over to Zona Rosa, a nearby Mexican restaurant known for its modern twist on traditional flavors. It’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy delicious food, and chat about our escape room adventure.

Those attending will need to Venmo me $20 to reserve your spot. If we have between 5 and 12 people the total cost per person is $32 (including tip and processing fees), but $45 if we only have 3 or 4 people. The remainder will be due at the event. The $20 is nonrefundable as it isn't refundable for me. I will email the Venmo info. Please note that I posted this event on my other group as well.

Secrets of the Attic: You are all gathered for the reading of Grandma Edna's will and learn she had never written it down as she was paranoid that conniving relatives would create a forgery. This prompted her to leave cryptic clues in her attic for you to decipher to discover your inheritance! Hurry, before the greedy relatives arrive in 60 minutes!
NOTE: There are metaphysical items in the attic, such as Ouija board on the wall and tarot cards.

Updated: We are meeting at Pruneyard Theaters. It will be crowded so just plan to find your seat. I'll get there at 5 so we can chat before. There are 21 of us between the 2 groups.

Save the Date to watch Wicked. Once the schedule is posted, I will select the theater and time. I am looking for a time starting close to 7pm and my first choice is Pruneyard followed by Cinemark at Oakridge or Santana Row. Tuesdays are usually discounted ticket days. Pruneyard has better food so we can actually eat dinner while watching the movie.

Hello Ladies what better way is there to kick off Thanksgiving Day then to either walk or run or “wog” (combo of both ) for 3 or 6 miles while supporting local charities! Every year I wog the SJ Turkey Trot in downtown San Jose. I’m setting up this event for those who want to join me.

I will start posting some after work week night walks and wogs for those looking to get a little exercise and training in before the event. It’s a fun and rewarding event if you aren’t already familiar with it. If there are enough people interested we can pair off or set up groups of those who want to walk versus those who get swept up in the energy of a road race. There are 2 distance options available. I always sign up for the 10k (6.2 miles) but there is also a 5k option too.

Blackford Elementary School, San Jose, CA
This a reoccurring event on the second Saturday of the month. We will meet at Blackford Elementary School and walk along the Los Gatos Creek to Mendocino Farms in Pruneyard.

Be careful, you access Blackford Elementary School's parking lot off Willow Street and Meridian. The school is shown off Leigh, but you can't access the parking lot from there. If you are traveling from 280, take Meridian to Willow St and turn Right (away from downtown WG). Willow St dead ends at Blackford Elementary. Once you enter the parking lot, there is an entrance to the trail to the right. We will meet there. My car is dark red (maroon) and I will keep the back open until we leave at 10:35.

The paved path is easy with a few ups and downs mostly as we go under overpasses. I'm not in good shape and I can do it. Then we head back to our cars.

The walk takes me about 45 mins each way. Plus the time for lunch should take us about 2.5 hours.

Join us for a delightful holiday gathering! We’ll kick things off with a cozy cookie exchange, where you can share your favorite holiday treats and swap recipes. Please bring 3 dozen of homemade cookies (or your favorite store-bought kind) to share with others! I love to see how our diverse cultures and religions celebrate this time of the year!!!

After enjoying some sweet treats and warm conversation, we'll bundle up and head out for a scenic walk through the charming Willow Glen neighborhood to admire the beautiful holiday decorations and lights. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season with friends and spread some holiday cheer!

Please bring the recipe so those with allergies can check the ingredients. I will scan the recipes and post as photos. Please also bring a flashlight. Also, please bring 2 canned food items. Soups, stews, chili, peanut butter, etc. are always needed items for the food pantries. I will bring the items to Second Harvest.

This event will happen rain or shine. If it does rain, I recommend a raincoat and hiking boots, I don't recommend an umbrella. I'm doing this a little earlier than previous years. My plans are to head out to Bramhall Park at 5pm. The sun sets at 4:52 so it should be dark, but hopefully, we will be earlier than the crowds. The cookie exchange will be at my house and I'll send out the address a week before.
