The goal of this Meetup is to be a place where you can:
- Play and sing with other guitarists.
- Share songs you like, or wrote, and show us how to play.
- Learn new songs and expand your repertoire.
- Offer playing tips to others and learn new tips.
- Appreciate and encourage fellow players.
- Gain confidence in your playing/singing.
- "Showboating" has its place but--it's not here.
To join us, you should:
- Have a guitar and capo.
- Be open to most kinds of music (but no classical or rap)
- Bring copies of lyrics/chords for songs you want to play for everyone signed up or suggest songs you would like to lead using "Ultimate Guitar" music that will be projected on a large flat screen that is in the room (provided by Folkmoot).
- Be able to play at least basic chords, e.g. A, Am, B, Bm, C, D, Dm, E, Em F, G, …
- Show appreciation and encouragement for others' efforts.
- Armless chairs are available to sit on while playing.
- A small cash donation to Folkmoot would be appreciated. Donations to Folkmoot will be collected the day of the event.
